Milwaukee's lakefront has gone to the dogs.
Door County Sled Dogs will once again offer dog sled rides in the city this winter, beginning this weekend at the lakefront.
Perspective mushers can hop on a sled Saturday and Sunday at McKinley Park, 1720 North Lincoln Memorial Drive, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and again on New Year's Day.
The official mushing season kicks off Jan. 11. Rides will then be held on weekends through February either at the lakefront or Whitnall Park, depending on snow cover.
In addition to a short ride, visitors will have a chance to interact with the team of 12 rescued dogs, talk with mushers, learn about rescues and take pictures with the dogs.
Rides cost $15 per person.
